About the startup

🎯 We are revolutionizing Direct Air Capture (DAC) by developing a unique electrochemical process 6x more energy efficient than first generation and 2x better than the most ambitious second generation technologies. At scale, we estimate the cost to be well below $100/ton, unlocking the potential of DAC at scale, and paving the way towards Net-Zero emissions.

We are expanding rapidly, and it's an exciting time to join us! We've got a brilliant team, top-tier investors, and amazing collaborators on board. If you're passionate and eager to make a real impact, good news- we have a seat reserved for you. 😉

About The Role

We are looking for a mission-driven Development Test Engineer to take ownership of advancing our core technology through rapid design–build–test cycles. In this role, you will be responsible for both developing prototypes and designing the test infrastructure that validates them. You’ll work hands-on with hardware, instrumentation, and automation, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into working systems. This position demands accountability, technical breadth, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where test results directly shape the product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development and maturation of core technology through iterative design–build–test cycles with manufacturability in mind
  • Take responsibility for defining test requirements and translating them into practical design and validation strategies
  • Design, implement, and automate test setups, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to support technology development
  • Perform hands-on testing of prototypes and hardware, analyzing data to drive design decisions and uncover edge cases/failure modes
  • Rapidly prototype fixtures, jigs, and hardware needed to accelerate experiments and design iterations
  • Collaborate closely with scientists and design engineers to evolve system architecture and core functionality based on test outcomes
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues with accountability for delivering solutions under fast iteration cycles
  • Document methods, results, and learnings in a way that enables cross-functional teams to act on test insights and advance the technology

Ideal Background(s)

Required:

  • 2–3 years experience in hardware development and testing, with demonstrated ownership of projects or subsystems
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing conditions
  • Experience with DAQ systems, sensors, actuators, and signal processing (hardware integration & measurement)
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis, automation, and tool development
  • Experience with CAD and mechanical design principles (materials, sizing, tolerances)
  • Fluent in English (and ideally french), with excellent communication & writing skills

Ideal:

  • Demonstrated prototyping skills through work and personal projects
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, or prototyping
  • Experience with LabVIEW (test automation & control)
