Job Summary

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of our reactors, as well as the implementation of peripheral systems, such as heat exchangers. You will play a key role in the assembly of our industrial pilot and work on advanced process simulations using ASPEN. You will participate in every step, from modeling to implementation, to enable the industrial scale-up of our CO₂ capture and conversion technologies.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Process Design and Optimization 🛠️Use ASPEN to model and simulate process performance (heat flow, fluid dynamics, chemical conversions). Design and size mechanical systems, including reactors and peripheral devices (heat exchangers, pumps, etc.).

  2. Heat Exchanger Management 🌡️Develop and optimize the heat exchanger, essential for the reactor's thermal performance. Ensure material selection and exchanger design to improve energy efficiency and durability.

  3. Industrial Pilot Assembly 🏭Oversee the construction and assembly of the pilot at laboratory/industrial scale, including the reactor and peripheral systems. Coordinate with the engineering team and external partners to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

  4. Process Optimization ⚙️Propose improvements to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and increase reactor productivity. Work closely with the CTO and team to identify innovations in CO₂ conversion systems.

  5. Testing and Analysis 📊Set up and conduct system tests to evaluate performance. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and simulation data to validate improvements.

Profile

  • PhD/Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial process design and optimization, ideally in energy, thermal, or chemical sectors.
  • Proficiency in process simulation tools, especially ASPEN.
  • Experience with thermal systems, such as heat exchangers and chemical conversion devices.
  • Experience in building industrial pilots or prototypes, including assembly and testing.
  • Competence in technical project management, with attention to detail and technical specifications.

Additional Assets

Experience in energy systems, thermal systems, or carbon capture would be a plus.

Conditions

  • 📄 Contract: Full-time (”CDI”)
  • 🏢 Location: Campus Air Liquide, Les Loges-en-Josas (France)
  • 💰Compensation: Competitive salary, starting from €40K gross annual, adjusted according to experience + bonus.
  • 💙 Benefits: we offer flexible hours and leave, remote work options, growth opportunities, continuous training, regular team-building events, as well as coverage for health insurance, transportation, and sports activities.
